Tesla Model S in the flesh

This week I had a great opportunity to see the Tesla Model S in the flesh at the Autodesk gallery in downtown San Francisco. Now it was just a prototype, but it looks fabulous. The windows were so tinted you can’t see the interior (if there really is one), but the exterior looked wonderful.
Overall, the car has such aggressive styling. The front end looks like an Austin Martin, the sides have the flare of a BMW, the wheels and tires have the coolness of the Hemi cars. This is such a head turner. I bet it will be one of the most noticable cars on the road when it comes to market. I can’t want to see a full production model.
I like hearing that Telsa now has a plant for the Model S. It also has $50 million in investment from Toyota, plus a deal to do the electric drivetrain for the upcoming Toyota Rav4 EV. Tesla just secured $30 million from Panasonic, their battery vendor. Also, deals with Mercedes to provide electric drivetrains and batteries for the Mini. They sure can do deals. I hope they can build cars too. And build them in reasonable volumes starting with the Model S in the new Tesla car factory that they bought from Toyota — the famous NUMI plant in Fremont, California.
These pictures are of the Tesla Model S prototype at the Autodesk Gallery in San Francisco. I apologize that most of the pictures have the “gate” in them. The guard would not let me remove it for my picture taking.
