GM modifies Volts to alleviate concerns over fires

GM is really handling this situation well. They are fixing the issue (or really a non-issue) where a severe side impact can cause coolant to leak into the battery causing a fire. The reason I characterize it as a non-issue is that the fire started 3 weeks after the crash AND the battery was not discharged per recommended safety procedures after a terrible accident.

This is another reason I'm proud to own a Chevy Volt. With this kind of great customer service, I should buy GM stock too. Furthermore, I think GM is doing a great service to the acceptance of electric cars, in general, with this response.

Read much more about GM's great customer support, including a video detailing the fix, here.
